RICHMOND
key defender Alex Rance is out of Thursday night's blockbuster clash with Carlton at the MCG.

The club informed fans via Twitter that the defender will miss the big clash with a foot injury.

Rance is a key player for the Tigers, ranking ninth in the AFL for marks last season.

Richmond has turned to Dylan Grimes to fill Rance's boots, and have also selected fiesty small forward Jake King.

Grimes missed 11 games mid-season with a stress fracture of the foot, returning for the team's last four matches.

Matt McDonough has also been omitted, while reigning best and fairest Daniel Jackson failed to prove his fitness.

Club champion Daniel Jackson has failed to prove his fitness for a second successive week.

Carlton has picked Simon White and Kane Lucas to replace the suspended Andrew Walker and Andrew McInnes, who has been dropped.

White will play his first senior match since fracturing vetebrae in his neck in the VFL in July last year.
