RICHMOND is unlikely to take action against Dustin Martin after he was caught driving an unregistered vehicle while potentially unlicensed.

The Tiger star was pulled over by police on Monday in Melbourne's Stonnington area, driving a Jeep which is believed to have come via a private arrangement.

Jeep is Richmond's major sponsor.

Richmond is working with Martin's management to resolve the matter although it is understood the 22-year-old will not face further sanction from the club.

It's understood Martin may have been unaware if he had reached his demerit point limit.

It came just days after Martin kicked the match-winning goal for Richmond against Carlton on Thursday night at the MCG.

Martin had a turbulent end to last season with the club, having threatened to walk out on the Tigers following drawn-out contract negotiations.

He toured Greater Western Sydney's facilities but returned to Punt Road to sign a two-year deal.

It came after a strong season, which saw him finish second in Richmond's best and fairest. He also polled 16 Brownlow Medal votes.
