Longer set to debut as Saints lose big man

Billy Longer will debut for the Saints after injury hits their No.1 ruckman

BILLY Longer will make his St Kilda debut after No.1 ruck man Tom Hickey was forced to withdraw due to a calf injury.

The 202cm Longer will pull on the Saints' guernsey for the first time against Adelaide on Sunday.

Longer was recruited from the Brisbane Lions last October to strengthen St Kilda's big man stocks after the Saints traded Ben McEvoy to Hawthorn.

The Saints take on the Crows at Etihad Stadium from 3.20pm.
