SYDNEY Swans defender Nick Malceski has put contract talks on hold until the end of the season, but his manager insists he is not disgruntled at the club.

Malceski, who will become an unrestricted free agent when he comes out of contract at the end of the season, has played every game this year, hitting top form running off half-back.

The 29-year-old signed a one-year extension midway through 2013.

"We've told the club we want to wait until the end of the season," Malceski's manager Ben Niall told Fairfax.

"Nick's focus is on his footy and helping the Swans win a premiership, and the finals aren't far away.

"It's a massive decision. It's the last really big decision Nick's going to make in his career and we want to use the time we have to look at all the options and make the best decision we can for him and his family.

"He's not disgruntled, he just wants to take his time, look at everything that's available to him and make a considered decision."
