RYAN O'KEEFE has played his final match at the SCG as a Swan and has expressed disappointment the club hasn't approached him about a farewell game in the seniors.

O'Keefe was given a guard of honour as he left the SCG following the Swans reserves' victory over Greater Western Sydney on Saturday.

A former Norm Smith medallist and club best and fairest, O'Keefe has been stuck in the seconds since being dropped back in round four, and is out of contract at season's end.

Speaking on ABC radio ahead of the Swans' match against St Kilda, O'Keefe said he is yet to decide whether he will continue his playing career elsewhere next year, but won't be donning the red and white.

He was also asked if the prospect of a farewell match in the seniors had been discussed with coach John Longmire.

"Not really. No it hasn't," he said. "It would have been nice, but I suppose it's a fairly ruthless business and the guys have got momentum going.

"It would be nice, but the season's not over yet."

The 33-year-old has played 286 senior games, fourth on the Swans' all-time list, and featured in two premierships.

He has shown some solid form in the reserves, but has fallen behind the likes of Luke Parker, Harry Cunningham and Craig Bird in the Swans' midfield pecking order.

O'Keefe could seek options to continue playing elsewhere next year, although he concedes the decision may not be up to him.

"I haven't made my mind up yet," he said. "I'm weighing up what options there are and will make a decision in due course.

"It might be out of my hands.

"It is what it is. I can't really do much about it. I've just got to get out there and do the best I can.

"I'm helping out coaching the young boys and have seen a lot of their development.

"I still haven't made my mind up what I'm doing, but it's fair to say I won't be playing at the SCG again.

"I've been happy with the way I've been playing footy this year.
