The star Swan, who was an All Australian in 2014, has also been linked to a move to Melbourne to reunite with former coach Paul Roos.
Malceski's manager, Ben Niall of Scopo Management, said the Suns were in the mix and also revealed clubs were prepared to offer two-year deals, with a third-year trigger, to bring in the rebounding defender.
"They (Gold Coast) are one of the clubs," Niall told NAB AFL Trade Radio.
He admitted the uncertainty around coach Guy McKenna's future was a concern if Malceski decided a move north was in the offing.
"Not knowing who the coach may be, that is unhelpful, because the coach-player relationship is pretty fundamental," he said.

Niall said Malceski had not ruled out the possibility of remaining at the Swans, but the high-price signings of Kurt Tippett and Lance Franklin were causing serious issues to the Swans' list management.
"They do have issues. They've got an unplanned situation, with their COLA (cost of living allowance) interfering," he said.
"It's hard for Sydney, like any team that's been up the top of the ladder for a long time, to retain everybody. So we'll try and do our best, but at the end of the day we've got to do what's in the best interests of Nick and his family."
Niall also manages Heritier Lumumba, who has requested a trade from Collingwood, and said the dashing wingman was weighing up whether a move to the Demons would be right for him.
Lumumba recently met with Demons coach Paul Roos who laid out the benefits of joining him at Melbourne.
Niall said the 27-year-old, who was an All Australian in 2010, was set to make a decision about his future in the next two to three days.
But he reiterated Lumumba was almost certain not to be at Collingwood next season.
