Find out who's going where FIRST on Trade Radio

JUST who coaches Essendon in 2015 could play a big role in whether Jason Winderlich does a backflip on his retirement.

The 29-year-old Bomber retired in August, but is seriously considering playing on.

Speaking on NAB AFL Trade Radio, Winderlich's manager Marty Pask said contrary to media reports, his client was not considering playing elsewhere.

Pask said they had not spoken to another club.

He said Winderlich's body was in good order, and he just had to decide whether he wanted to go around again.

"As it stands at the moment he has retired," Pask said.

"He is in the stages of assessing what his future looks like. We're having those discussions with Essendon. There's nothing else to suggest he'll be playing anywhere else."

Pask admitted who coached Essendon in 2015 could play a role.

While James Hird is currently contracted to coach, speculation is mounting that he could make way for 2014 mentor Mark Thompson.

"I think any player wants to play for a coach, and know who that coach is," Pask said.

"I guess this will go into his decision with whether he wants to play on.

"We'd make that decision in the coming days."
