The Australian Football League wishes to advise the following paperwork has been formally lodged with the league as part of NAB AFL Free Agency / Trade Period, as at 5pm today, Monday October 6:

1. North Melbourne has made an offer to Unrestricted Free Agent Jarrad Waite (Carlton). Jarrad Waite is now able to join the club immediately. Based on the player’s age and the contract offer, the AFL advised the Carlton FC there would be no compensation for the loss of player Waite.

2. North Melbourne has made an offer to Restricted Free Agent Shaun Higgins (Western Bulldogs). Western Bulldogs elected not to match the offer and Shaun Higgins is now able to join the club immediately. Based on the player’s age and the contract offer, the AFL advised the Western Bulldogs FC the club would be eligible for a round two compensation selection. The AFL also advised the Western Bulldogs that if the club exchanged the compensation obtained from losing Shaun Higgins, or the net compensation from losing and gaining a Free Agent, it was no longer eligible to gain a Restricted or Unrestricted Free Agent.

3. Hawthorn has made an offer to Unrestricted Free Agent James Frawley (Melbourne). James Frawley is now able to join the club immediately. Based on the player’s age and the contract offer, the AFL advised the Melbourne FC the club would be eligible for a round one compensation selection. The AFL also advised Melbourne that if the club exchanged the compensation obtained from losing James Frawley, or the net compensation from losing and gaining a Free Agent, it was no longer eligible to gain a Restricted or Unrestricted Free Agent.
