YOUNG midfielder Josh Simpson's future at Fremantle is in jeopardy, with the club still required to free another spot on its senior list before next month's NAB AFL Draft.

Simpson took indefinite leave from the club in June after a series of off-field indiscretions.

He has twice been fined by the Dockers for failing to meet club requirements, the second of which came in April after he missed a team flight to Sydney.

Simpson's manager Jason Dover said the club had been supportive of the 20-year-old and had implemented a personal development program to help him sort through "a number of family and personal issues".

But with Fremantle still needing to clear one more place on its senior list after farewelling Kepler Bradley and Scott Gumbleton, Dover told NAB AFL Trade Radio that Simpson was no certainty to remain a Docker next year.

"They've been quite transparent in terms of where it all sits ... depending on what happens during the trade period, that might influence where they sit with Josh," Dover said.

"We've agreed that we'll sit down with Chris Bond (football manager) and Brad Lloyd (list manager) at the end of the trade period and assess where that's up to.

"He's super hungry to play football and be back in the AFL and I think one thing in terms of Fremantle taking footy away from him is it really made him realise what he's missing.

"He's desperate to get back, start training, be back at the club really attack his last chance he might get at having an AFL career."

In addition to Bradley and Gumbleton, the Dockers have also delisted rookies Sam Menegola and Michael Wood. 

Each AFL club must enter the NAB AFL Draft with at least three vacant senior list positions for draftees.
