JONATHON Patton's rehabilitation from his second knee reconstruction has been "outstanding" and he is on track for a mid-season return, Greater Western Sydney coach Leon Cameron says.

Patton was struck down by a ruptured ACL in round 21 last season, but his diligent recovery has raised hopes the 198cm key forward can make an impact for the Giants in the second half of 2015.

In more exciting news for GWS fans, star recruit Ryan Griffen has completed about 90 per cent of pre-season training and is set to make his debut in orange and charcoal in round one.

"Definitely Ryan Griffen to play round one and Jon Patton's rehab has been outstanding and should resume around the middle of the year," Cameron said during AFL.com.au’s #AskTheCoach series.
