Fundamental to developing a strong and sustainable business is the role the Club and its programs will play in its local community. The Gold Coast SUNS community objective is to have both meaningful engagement and real outcomes for the Gold Coast, Northern Rivers region and Regional QLD.

Working closely with the General Manager – Stadium, Consumer and Community and the GC SUNS Football Department, the Community and Fan Development Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy and operations relative to the Club’s community programs and the acquisition and development of engaged fans of the club.

The role will be directly responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships and alliances with key stakeholders, managing operational processes and driving an understanding of the importance of effective community and fan engagement.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong personal brand which personifies the GCFC values of Bold, Fresh, Relentless, Dependable and Community;
  • A strategic and analytical approach to planning and decision making, including the ability to consult and gather information, consider alternatives, communicate decisions and review outcomes;
  • Demonstrated experience in data acquisition and relationship marketing;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing engaging fan programs;
  • Demonstrated experience utilising a CRM database;
  • Relationship building skills particularly with schools, universities,  local sporting and social clubs;
  • Demonstrated experience working with community organisations and stakeholders at a high level;
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing high quality community programs;
  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills;
  • Strong attention to detail; and
  • A degree or diploma in Marketing, Sports Management or a closely related field.
