CHRIS Yarran has been brought back from his club-imposed exile to help bolster a Carlton side staggered by Chris Judd's sudden retirement last week. 

The Blues lost the dual Brownlow medallist after he suffered a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago.

They have recalled Yarran, who missed their last game after being banished to the VFL following a series of late arrivals to training, and vice-captain Bryce Gibbs for Saturday afternoon's clash with Port Adelaide at the MCG.

Gibbs has missed two games with a back injury.

Judd and Jason Tutt make way, while defender Michael Jamison will miss again with the calf complaint that saw him last play in round four against St Kilda.

Meanwhile, the Power have regained defender Jackson Trengove, who has overcome the ankle that has plagued him for three weeks, but have lost Matt White to a significant hamstring injury that is likely to cost him a month.

Paul Stewart is also out with a hamstring.

The Power have added Nathan Krakouer, Kane Mitchell, Andrew Moore and Brendon Ah Chee, with Ken Hinkley swinging the axe at the selection table.

Aaron Young, Sam Gray and Tom Clurey are all casualties of last week's loss to Geelong at home.

As expected, an unchanged Richmond has named its in-form trio of talls Jack Riewoldt, Ty Vickery and Ben Griffiths but with wet, wintery conditions expected, there could be a late change for Friday night's clash with West Coast at the MCG.

Chris Newman will line up for a second game in the VFL after overcoming a groin injury.

The Eagles have travelled with and named defender Jeremy McGovern, despite a corked thigh, and have regained Matt Rosa after a six-week hamstring injury.

Rosa has been picked despite playing for East Perth just five days ago, with veteran Sam Butler, who has failed to come up after back-to-back six-day breaks, their only omission.

Greater Western Sydney is counting the cost of a shocking weekend on the injury front with Shane Mumford, Phil Davis and Joel Patfull suffering long-term complaints.

Mumford is out for the year, Davis has a 6-8 week ankle injury and Patfull will miss around the same time with broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Midfielder Stephen Coniglio is also out with a 2-3 week shoulder issue while James Stewart and Will Hoskin-Elliot have been omitted.

Rory Lobb and Andrew Phillips have been named to replace Mumford, while Aiden Corr has been given a call up to the backline along with debutant Caleb Marchbank.

Midfielder Jack Steele will also play his first AFL game, while midfielder Rhys Palmer is back for his first game since round four after two games in the NEAFL following a shoulder injury.

The return of Nick Dal Santo for the Kangaroos won't help the Giants, with the former St Kilda midfielder to line up for his first game since round two and hamstring surgery.

Shaun Atley has also been recalled, but Scott McMahon and Ryan Bastinac have been dumped after last Saturday night's loss to the Sydney Swans. 

There are a couple of big ins for the Western Bulldogs for their Saturday night clash with the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium with Marcus Bontempelli (adductor) and Liam Picken (hamstring) named.

However they will be without forward Stewart Crameri, who is out with an ankle injury, and have omitted Lin Jong from the team that played two weeks ago against the Power.

The battered Lions are starting to look a little better with Jack Redden, Dan McStay and Jed Adcock to play after missing four, three and two games respectively.

Liam Dawson, Sam Mayes and Harris Andrews have been dropped.

Geelong will lose James Kelly (ankle) and Rhys Stanley (foot) for multiple weeks after they hurt themselves against the Power.

The Cats have named a potential two debutants in the extended squad for Sunday's clash with Melbourne at Simonds Stadium. 

Second-year pair Jarrad Jansen and Jake Kolodjashnij have been picked in the squad, along with Michael Luxford, Nakia Cockatoo and Sam Blease.

Luxford could return after getting a taste of senior football in round 10 while Cockatoo may play his first game since round six and Blease may face his former team.

The Demons have made two forced changes, with Cam Pedersen and Jack Grimes out with hand injuries, but have named Chris Dawes for his first game since seven.

Rohan Bail, Dean Terlich, Matt Jones and Jake Spencer have also been added to the squad – Terlich for possibly his first senior run for the season.
