YOUNG Richmond midfielder Kamdyn McIntosh will remain a Tiger until at least the end of 2017 after confirming a new two-year deal with the club.

The Tigers have wasted no time in signing up one of their success stories of 2015 as the ink dries on All Australian defender Alex Rance's new four-year contract, which was confirmed last Saturday.

McIntosh, 21, was drafted by the Tigers with selection No.31 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft but didn't make his AFL debut until round one this season.

A foot stress fracture cut him down last year while a shoulder issue in 2013 hampered his progression in his first season.

But after 23 touches against Carlton in round one won him the season's first NAB AFL Rising Star nomination, he hasn't missed a game.

"We have always believed in Kamdyn's ability to make an impact at AFL level," football manager Dan Richardson said.

"He has been unlucky with some injuries over the last few seasons, but he has worked extremely hard to get himself ready for an opportunity at AFL level.

"It's pleasing to see him get some continuity in his football, and make an important contribution to the team each week.

"It will be exciting watching him develop over the course of his career, and we look forward to seeing many more games from him in Tiger colours."
