GEELONG has continued to secure its future, signing emerging midfielder Darcy Lang to a new two-year deal.

Lang's signature follows that of Tom Hawkins, Jackson Thurlow and Jordan Murdoch in the last week.

However, star midfielder Steven Motlop, who falls out-of-contract at the end of this season, remains unsigned with the Cats stating recently they were giving him space to make a decision on his football future.

Lang, who has played every game for the Cats this season, said it was an easy decision to stay at Geelong, considering it was so close to his home town of Colac.

"(I'm) over the moon, it's something that you want to be, a one-club player and I’m very happy to be signing on for two more years," Lang told the club's website.

The Cats selected the 19-year-old with their first round selection (No.16 overall) in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, despite the smooth moving onballer breaking his leg during that year's under-18 championships.

Lang made his debut in 2014, playing one game, but, along with fellow youngster Cory Gregson, has gone on to become an essential part of Geelong's forward line in 2015.

"Darcy is well respected by his teammates and coaches and has impressed over his short time here,” Cats football manager Steve Hocking said.

"He is a quality young person and player and we look forward to watching him develop over the next two years."

Lang hinted there would be more signings at Geelong in the coming weeks.

"Thurls (Thurlow) last week and Murda (Murdoch) earlier this week, hopefully we've got a couple more boys to come in the coming weeks, so it's exciting times," Lang said.
