CARLTON defender Michael Jamison says he let his emotions get the better of him when he refused to shake hands with former teammate Mitch Robinson after the Blues' loss to the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night.

Jamison turned his back on Robinson, who joined the Lions this season after six years and 100 matches at Carlton, when he approached him after the final siren.

A clearly disappointed Robinson told Fox Sports he was "a bit annoyed" at Jamison's response.

"I went to go and see 'Jamo' after the game. We had a few words during the game and he just turned his back on me," Robinson said.

Robbo the game breaker

He said approaching Jamison after the match was "a bit of mateship".

The former teammates had clashed several times during the match, including one incident that may attract the attention of the Match Review Panel.

Speaking on the Carlton website, Jamison said of the post-match snub, "Unfortunately I let the emotion and the disappointment of the result get the better of me."

He said Robinson's outstanding game – the Lion had 33 disposals and 15 tackles – had contributed to his disappointment.

"I just let my emotions boil over."
