ADELAIDE captain Taylor Walker has slotted seven goals in an 87-point slaughter of the Brisbane Lions, keeping the Crows in the  top eight.

Walker was instrumental in a second quarter surge which set the Crows on path for a 20.11 (131) to 6.8 (44) win on Saturday night at Adelaide Oval.

The powerful forward booted three of his goals as Adelaide went on an eight-goal to nothing blitz in the second term.

Five talking points: Adelaide v Brisbane Lions

The Crows took seventh spot from North Melbourne, who play ladder leaders Fremantle on Sunday.

Walker led a resounding victory before 45,527 spectators, with Eddie Betts potting three majors and five-gamer Rory Atkins and substitute Jarryd Lyons kicking two.

GAMEBREAKER: Walker's seventh heaven

Forward Tom Lynch gathered 32 disposals while teammates Rory Laid (26 disposals), Ricky Henderson (26 possessions) and Rory Sloane (26 touches) were all prominent.

Adelaide broke the visitors' resistance after a sluggish opening - the Lions, with Allen Christensen kicking two goals, held a six-point lead at quarter-time.

But the Crows sweetly clicked into gear in the second stanza, their eight goals coming in a 23-minute purple patch.

SHOWREEL: 'Attack of the Crows'

Adelaide generated 19 inside 50s to four and held the Lions scoreless to bank a defining 10.4 to 3.3 half-time lead.

The Lions did manage three goals in the third - but the Crows added another four to head to the last change with a 49-point advantage.
Adelaide cruised to the finish with six goals to none in the last term.

Crows coach Scott Camporeale praised his players for clinically putting away another opponent, a week after trouncing Essendon by 112 points.

"They're a really proud group and a ruthless group ... you have got to have that streak in you," Camporeale said.

Dayne Zorko collected a game-high 38 disposals and Tom Rockliff (29 possessions) and Jack Redden (27 touches) battled gamely.

But the Lions remain anchored in 17th spot with just three wins in a bleak season.

"That is pretty much where our team is at the moment - we just can't sustain it for long enough," he said.
