THE WEST Coast players need to be prepared to "cop a fair whack" in the review of the Eagles' 57-point loss to Adelaide, Matt Rosa says.

The Eagles are keen to move on quickly from the poor result at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Eagles coach Adam Simpson said post-match he was not too concerned by the result and the Eagles' will finish second on the ladder provided they beat St Kilda this Saturday at Domain Stadium.

But Rosa said on Monday that Simpson would not simply sweep the result under the carpet with the players.

"He definitely didn't write it off," Rosa said.

"He's still remaining positive that hopefully it was just a bad game, but he also said that we're probably going to cop our fair whack in the review and go through it and make sure we learn.

"But there's also the element that we've got move on pretty quickly and look at St Kilda."

Rosa said many of the lessons could be found in the first quarter, when the Eagles gave up eight goals to nil to trail by 50 points at quarter-time.

"They were probably getting through us a little too easy," Rosa said.

"We weren't holding on to the footy and probably weren't getting our hands on it at times. When we did, we coughed it up a number of times."

Rosa said the Crows were a quality side and he believed they would be a genuine threat in the finals.

"I think they have a lot of weapons and they are playing fantastic team footy," he said.

"I think they will be hard to beat."

The Eagles are set to regain some key players this week ahead of the clash with the Saints.

Will Schofield and Sam Butler are both in line to return from hamstring injuries. Chris Masten is available after serving a two-week suspension. Scott Selwood gathered 21 touches in the WAFL on Saturday in his first game back after an ankle problem.

However, Sharrod Wellingham will be touch and go with his ankle issue.

Defender Jeremy McGovern should be fine to play this week after copping a knock on the shoulder on Sunday.

Rosa said McGovern pulled up well after the game and wanted to return during the match.

"He was confident that he could have kept playing yesterday," Rosa said.

"He's pretty filthy he got taken off. I think he'll be right to go (this week)."

The Eagles appear destined to host Hawthorn in a qualifying final in a fortnight if they beat St Kilda on Saturday. If they lose they will have to travel to the MCG to face the same opponent, provided Hawthorn beats Carlton.

Rosa said the players knew what was at stake but they couldn't afford to take their eyes off the Saints.

"We obviously know what the reward is if we win this weekend," he said.

"We've just got to worry about St Kilda this week. We've got to turn around what happened yesterday and not look too far ahead. We got to just make sure we keep improving."
