THE NAB AFL Trade Period is ready to explode as clubs finally get the opportunity to make deals official from 10am on Monday.

There has been plenty of talk behind the scenes but little action since the free agency window opened on Friday.

AFL.com.au's Trade Winds will provide a round-up of the latest movement every morning until the end of the Trade Period on Thursday October 22.

Bombers set to land Lions big man

Brisbane Lions free agent Matthew Leuenberger will be wearing red and black in 2016.

The Age is reporting that the 27-year-old ruckman will make a free agency move to Tullamarine this week, turning his back on interest from the Sydney Swans.

Trade Winds: Sunday

The report suggests the Lions won't match Essendon's three-year offer and will accept a compensation pick for Leuenberger.

Securing Leuenberger would be a major boost for the Dons given their struggles in the ruck last season when No.1 big man Tom Bellchambers was injured after the club lost Paddy Ryder to Port Adelaide in the trade period.

The Bombers had also been interested in Gold Coast's Zac Smith, who appears set to join Geelong, while the Swans could now ramp up their bid for West Coast's Callum Sinclair to replace Mike Pyke, who is weighing up whether to retire.

Carlton and Collingwood compete for Aish

The Brisbane Lions' ultimatum to wantaway youngster James Aish could see the Blues snap him up in the pre-season draft.

Carlton has the No.1 pick in the pre-season draft and has signalled its desire to recruit Aish if he doesn't re-sign at the Lions, who say they are putting their foot down and won't trade another young player out of the club.

Aish has requested a move to Collingwood, but the Blues are keen to snare him if the Lions refuse to budge, the Herald Sun reports.

Bombers won't budge on Carlisle compo

A trade stand-off could be developing between Essendon and St Kilda as the clubs haggle over fair value for Jake Carlisle.

The Herald Sun reports the Dons won't release the 197cm backman for less than the Saint's first pick, currently No.5, in November's draft – despite St Kilda refusing to put that selection on the table.

Meanwhile, Bombers list and recruitment manager Adrian Dodoro revealed veteran Brent Stanton is set to sign a new deal, while Courtenay Dempsey's future remains under a cloud until he meets with new coach John Worsfold.

Pies' future pick to secure Treloar?

With Richmond dropping out of the race to secure Adam Treloar's services, Collingwood is set to swoop on the budding GWS star.

The Herald Sun reports the Pies will give up pick seven in this year's draft and potentially a second-round selection in 2016 to satisfy the Giants.

Carlton is reportedly interested in Treloar, but the Magpies' trade offer could be the most appealing to GWS, which wants the best return possible to accrue enough draft points to recruit academy young guns Jacob Hopper and Matthew Kennedy.

Gold Coast take away Currie

The Suns are set to recruit North Melbourne back-up ruckman Daniel Currie.

AFL.com.au reported last Thursday the 201cm big man – who has been starved of opportunity behind Todd Goldstein – was on Gold Coast's radar.

The Gold Coast Bulletin reports Currie, who is out of contract, has nominated the Suns as his preferred destination in the trade period.

Gold Coast is keen to secure a ruck partner for Tom Nicholls, with Zac Smith likely to head to Geelong.
