COLLINGWOOD and Fremantle have been fined under the AFL's anti-doping code for failing to provide up-to-date player whereabouts information to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency.

Just last month four clubs – Essendon, Port Adelaide, Richmond and St Kilda – were fined under the same rules, while the Sydney Swans were fined in September.

Under the requirements of the anti-doping code, all clubs must keep ASADA notified at all times of player addresses and contact details for testing purposes, given players can be tested 365 days of the year.

Collingwood was fined $7500 because three players had details that were not up to date, while Fremantle (two players) was fined $5000.

AFL general counsel Andrew Dillon said no tests were missed by any player from the two clubs that had been sanctioned, but the rules needed to be fully complied with at all times.

It is the club that is sanctioned for the failure to provide whereabouts information, not the individual player.

In each of the cases involving Fremantle and Collingwood the AFL said it was the players who had failed to keep their club informed of their details.
