The 2016 free agent list: Banned Bombers prominent, Swans co-captain unrestricted

MORE than 50 players will enter the 2016 season as potential free agents after the AFL released its official list on Thursday.

Banned Bomber Cale Hooker has been confirmed as an unrestricted free agent, as reported by AFL.com.au on Wednesday.

Hooker is one of 49 unrestricted free agents, meaning he can move freely at the end of the season without the Bombers having the opportunity to match a rival club's offer.

A further seven players – including Richmond's Ty Vickery and Melbourne's Jack Watts – have been named as restricted free agents.

Their clubs have the option to match any contract offer made to them.

Essendon has six unrestricted free agents on its list – Courtenay Dempsey, Heath Hocking, David Myers, Tayte Pears, Brent Stanton and Hooker.

Dempsey is the only one of those six not currently suspended after the 2012 supplements scandal.
