THE QUESTIONS on West Coast's away record will continue to come until the Eagles can deliver on the road this season, says coach Adam Simpson.

The Eagles withstood an impressive third-term fight back from Collingwood on Sunday before running away in the last quarter to record a 62-point win.

They sit comfortably inside the top-eight with a 4-2 record after six rounds this season but both losses have come on the road to Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans.

The Eagles face Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday off a six-day break and Simpson said he would continue to field questions about their travel credentials until they can deliver interstate.

"Until we win, I've just got to cop these questions," Simpson said.

"I'm glad no one has said flat track bullies yet. I would've gone off.

"We've had Hawthorn at the 'G, Sydney at the SCG and (now) Geelong down there, so that's a great challenge. It's good for us. We're excited by it."

Simpson said the Eagles tried to tweak parts of their preparation ahead of the match against the Swans but he wondered if travel preparation had anything to do with their performances away from home.

"We changed a couple of little things last week," Simpson said.

"How do you look at it when you're in front halfway through the third quarter against Sydney? Do you put it down to how you prepare? I'm not quite sure. It's probably mindset and the fact we're playing bloody good sides away from home."

The Eagles won six games interstate last season but have lost their last four away from home, twice to Hawthorn and once each to Adelaide and the Swans.

They haven't beaten the Cats at Simonds Stadium since their premiership season in 2006, when 202-game veteran Matt Priddis made his AFL debut.

The Eagles have no excuses from an injury standpoint. Elliot Yeo was withdrawn from the win over Collingwood with tonsillitis. But apart from Dom Sheed (pec) and Mitch Brown (finger) they have a fully fit squad to choose from heading to Geelong.

Mark Hutchings produced another strong performance as the late inclusion with 19 disposals, five tackles and a goal. Simpson said he could not be squeezed out this week.

Five talking points: West Coast v Collingwood

"Getting him a spot in the side was difficult, but (Yeo's absence) forced our hand," Simpson said.

"We were really pleased with the balance of our midfield.

"He's in at the moment. He owns it now. Once you're in, it's harder to get out. He's done enough to stay in the side."

Simpson thought Yeo should be available for the Geelong clash and Xavier Ellis could also be available after he played in the WAFL on Sunday.

He gathered 24 touches for East Perth in his first game back from an Achilles injury.
