EMERGING Melbourne star Jesse Hogan says he went surfing during his midweek trip home to Western Australia and denied meeting with potential suitors Fremantle.

Hogan missed the Demons' Wednesday training session to make a quick trip home to Perth between rounds seven and eight.

Demons coach Paul Roos said he was happy for Hogan to head home to see his family. Hogan said he did not use the trip to meet with Fremantle.

"No not a chance. No way," Hogan told Channel 10 on Wednesday.

"Me and my brother went down to Lancelin yesterday and took the long boards out and got in the water. So that was good. Just a bit of a little bit of a freshen-up. I'll play this week, so all good."

Hogan's future has been a source of great speculation. The 2015 NAB AFL Rising Star is contracted to the Demons until the end of 2017.

Brisbane Lions triple-premiership star Jonathan Brown called for the Dockers to throw the cheque book at Hogan with a massive $15 million, 10-year deal to lure the 21-year-old home.

Hogan was amused by Brown's comments but said money was not the priority in his decision-making about where he wants to play his football beyond 2017.

"It wouldn't be a bad pay packet, but it's just 'Browny' showing a bit of love to his fellow key forwards, I think," Hogan said.

"It's not my thought process at all. It's not really a money thing, it's just (about) where I want to be."

Roos said earlier on Wednesday that the Demons were not putting any pressure on Hogan in regards to his contract and that they were comfortable with where his was at.
