The AFL wishes to advise the Tribunal will sit at 5pm (EST) tonight, Tuesday May 24, after Port Adelaide’s Tom Jonas was referred directly to a hearing. Please also find below those sanctions accepted from the Match Review Panel examination of the matches played in Round Nine of the 2016 Toyota AFL Premiership Season:

Tom Jonas will appear via video link from Adelaide (4.30pm local time) at Cliftons Adelaide, Level 1 ,80 King William St (parking available on Grenfell St).

Tom Jonas, Port Adelaide, has been charged with striking Andrew Gaff, West Coast, during the third quarter of the Round Nine match between Port Adelaide and West Coast, played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday May 21, 2016.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the West Coast Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with severe impact to the head. The incident was classified as a direct referral to the Tribunal. The player has no applicable record which impacts the penalty. An early plea was not available for this offence.

Callum Sinclair, Sydney Swans, has accepted a $1000 sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Sam Mitchell, Hawthorn, during the third quarter of the Round Nine match between the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn, played at the MCG on Friday May 20, 2016.

Hamish Hartlett, Port Adelaide, has accepted a $2500 sanction for a third offence of being involved in a melee during the third quarter of the Round Nine match between Port Adelaide and West Coast, played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday May 21, 2016.

Luke Shuey, West Coast, has accepted a $1500 sanction for a second offence of being involved in a melee during the third quarter of the Round Nine match between West Coast and Port Adelaide, played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday May 21, 2016. 

Eliott Yeo, West Coast, has accepted a $1000 sanction for being involved in a melee during the third quarter of the Round Nine match between West Coast and Port Adelaide, played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday May 21, 2016.
