HAYDEN Ballantyne says he loves playing with superstar Nat Fyfe and has laughed off suggestions of a rift.

The Fremantle goalsneak has been embroiled in trade rumours since last week, while skipper David Mundy dismissed talk of a division between several players and Fyfe on Tuesday.

"I love playing with Nathan Fyfe because he's one of the best players in the AFL and he's so driven for success he drags everyone else and he inspires the team and myself to play good footy," Ballantyne told Perth radio station Mix 94.5 on Wednesday.

"They're the sort of people you want to play footy with."

Ballantyne's future at Fremantle is in doubt.

He told Channel Nine on Tuesday night that his manager had put the feelers out for a trade and cited Eddie Betts' form since moving from Carlton to Adelaide as a reason to explore a fresh start at another club.

Ballantyne said on Wednesday he was unsure where the trade rumours had started but once again stated that he and his management are exploring all options regarding his future.

Ballantyne, 29, is contracted to Fremantle for 2017.
