IT'S OFFICIAL – Patrick Dangerfield will enter Monday night's Brownlow Medal count as the hottest favourite in history.

Crownbet has the Geelong superstar at $1.14 to take home his first 'Charlie' after being installed as the favourite for the award following his 43-disposal best afield effort against Hawthorn in round one.

AFL.com.au's Brownlow predictor expects Dangerfield to poll 29 votes, four ahead of Sydney Swans midfielder Luke Parker on 25.

Rory Sloane (23) – who is ineligible – Luke Shuey (22) and Dustin Martin (22) round out the website's projected top five.

Punters have not been perturbed by Dangerfield's short price with the betting company taking $120,000 on the star midfielder to win the award at that low price.

The best price punters could get for Dangerfield to win the medal was $9.00 prior to the start of the season.

Crownbet listed the former Crow at $2.00 after he picked up 31 disposals and kicked four goals against Fremantle in round 17.

A Dangerfield/Sam Mitchell quinella, listed at $11.00, has also been popular with punters, while adding Dustin Martin into the mix has attracted interest as a trifecta.

Crownbet is offering 650 special markets for punters to choose from.

One such market available is predicting the amount of votes players who attended Melbourne and Victoria's illustrious private schools will receive.

Marcellin College, with attendees Marcus Bontempelli, Leigh Montagna, David Zaharakis, Luke Shuey and Jack Newnes, is the favourite to receive the most votes at $1.06.

Xavier College consisting of Kangaroo Robbie Tarrant and Swans trio Josh Kennedy, Dan Hannebery and Ted Ricahrds is second at $7.
