NORTH Melbourne has confirmed Cameron Joyce as its new general manager of football.

Joyce takes over from Geoff Walsh, who has handed over the managerial reins ahead of season 2017.

Managing director and chief executive Carl Dilena said Joyce was a great appointment and well respected in the industry.

“Cam has been an integral part of our football department for many years,” Dilena said.

“He has an in-depth knowledge of our list and is certainly very well respected both internally and externally.

“Geoff will actively support Cam and stay involved with the team and coaches in terms of selection, game day, staff mentoring and development as well as managing our VFL alignment with Werribee.”

The Kangaroos have also appointed Geelong's Michael McMahon to the role of list manager.
