JARRYD Lyons is headed to Gold Coast after the Suns completed a trade with Adelaide on Thursday morning.

Lyons, 24, and pick No.71 have been traded to the Suns in exchange for picks 43 and 67.

The midfielder played 55 games with the Crows after he was picked up with pick No.61 in the 2010 draft.

Lyons established himself as a regular in the Crows side in 2016 playing 20 games, averaging nearly 22 disposals and kicking 15 goals.

He gathered 23 disposals and kicked a goal in the elimination final win over North Melbourne and also collected 19 touches in the semi-final loss to the Sydney Swans.

The Suns have now secured Lyons, experienced midfielder Pearce Hanley and ruckman Jarrod Witts in this trade period after losing Dion Prestia to Richmond

Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft said that Lyons was the right fit for the Suns' midfield.

"Throughout the exchange period our priority was to bolster the playing list with mature-aged talent, and Jarryd fits that strategy," Ashcroft said.

"Jarryd is determined to be part of building a winning culture and environment on the Gold Coast, and we are pleased that he chose to nominate our club as his preferred destination."
