ADELAIDE has nominated Ben Jarman as a potential father-son recruit at next month's NAB AFL Draft.
The son of two-time Crows premiership player Darren Jarman appears a strong chance to land at the Crows after Hawthorn decided not to nominate the 18-year-old.
Both clubs could have pursued the midfield/forward prospect under the father-son rules given Darren played more than 100 games for both clubs.
The Hawks confirmed on Monday they would not nominate Jarman ahead of the 2pm deadline.
Adelaide list manager Justin Reid said there were still no guarantees the club would take Jarman at the Draft.
"We will be true to our talent order and there is still plenty of work to be done between now and the national draft," Reid said on the club's website.
"We will see how the draft selections fall compared to our list of available talent.
"Ben has been finishing year 12 so we have respected that and kept some distance but the nomination needed to be lodged today and we are pleased to have done that."
Jarman is one of five father/son prospects who have been nominated.
Collingwood named Callum Brown and Josh Daicos, Geelong is keen on Geelong Falcons winger Sam Simpson and West Coast expressed its interest in Jake Waterman.
Brown's father Gavin played 254 games for the Magpies, while Daicos is the son of Collingwood champion Peter.
Sean Simpson played 114 games for Geelong from 1991-98.
Waterman, a 190cm key forward, showcased his class with an eye-catching five-goal haul during his WAFL debut for Claremont against Peel Thunder this year.

Jarman, who played for SANFL club North Adelaide this season and also represented South Australia in the under-18 championships, is tipped to be a late selection.
He was interviewed by both of his father's AFL clubs at the Draft Combine and trained with Adelaide earlier this year.
Jarman lives in Adelaide but said earlier this month that being nearer to the Crows would not influence his decision.
The youngster is a different player to his father, and shorter at 175cm and 66kg. He boasts class, smarts and footy nous around goal and can also push into the midfield.
Hawthorn said it was not in a position to nominate Jarman, given it enters the draft at pick No.88.
"Due to the lateness of our picks in the 2016 National Draft, which at this stage carry no points, we felt we could not commit to Ben," list manager Graham Wright said.
"We have informed Ben, Darren and the Adelaide Football Club of our decision.
"We will still consider Ben like every other player when we have our selections in the national and rookie drafts."
The AFL also received 29 nominations for potential academy draft picks from the Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast, Greater Western Sydney and Sydney Swans.
Among those who have been nominated include highly-rated Suns prospect Jack Bowes, Jacob Allison (Lions) and Harry Perryman (Giants).
