RISING Star runner-up Caleb Daniel thinks he has improvement in him after playing a key role in the Western Bulldogs' drought-breaking premiership.

The diminutive Daniel was brilliant in the first two finals and stepped up at key moments in the preliminary and Grand Finals.

He entered the finals with just 30 games experience but captured the imagination of football watchers with his performances.

However, he says he wants to get better so he can cement a spot in the young Bulldogs' midfield.

"There’s a lot to work on in my game," Daniel told the Bulldogs' website.

"I’d love to be able to go inside and take some pressure off guys Luke Dahlhaus and Marcus Bontempelli in the midfield and try to relieve them a little bit."

The Bulldogs midfield runs deep with Mitch Wallis to return from a broken leg next season to join Bontempelli, Tom Liberatore, Dahlhaus, Lin Jong, Toby McLean, Jack Macrae and Liam Picken.

It means the 168cm Daniel, who was pick No.46 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft, is taking nothing for granted despite having a flag having turned 20 in the middle of the year.

"I’ve always got to work on the tackling and that sort of stuff,” Daniel said.
