ADELAIDE'S first father-son selection Ben Jarman won't be wearing the same number his dad Darren made famous during his premiership-winning career at the Crows.

The No.3 guernsey that Darren Jarman wore with distinction during 121 games and two flags with the Crows from 1996 to 2001 will remain with midfielder/forward Riley Knight next year.

Jarman will also wear a different number to his uncle Andrew, who played 110 games for the Crows from 1991 to 1996.

Andrew Jarman wore No.2, which is currently occupied by midfielder Brad Crouch.

The Crows will announce on Wednesday what number Jarman and the rest of the club's draftees will wear.

Jarman joined the Crows on Monday through the NAB AFL Rookie Draft as a father-son selection.

The Crows announced on Tuesday that defender Jake Kelly and midfielder Harrison Wigg were the only players from last season who were changing numbers.

Kelly has ditched the No.47 guernsey in favour of No.8, which became vacant after midfielder Mitch Grigg was delisted.

Fellow backman Nathan Bassett is the most successful player to have worn the No.8 for the Crows during his stellar 210-game career.

Other players to have worn the No.8 for the club include Jason McCartney, Myke Cook, Lewis Johnston and Eddie Hocking.

Kelly is hoping the change of number corresponds with reclaiming his place in the side.

He played 10 senior games for the Crows in 2015, but couldn't force his way into the team last year.

After wearing the No.35 in his first two seasons at the club, Wigg will take over the No.10 guernsey previously worn by retired defender Matthew Jaensch.

Wigg is yet to make his AFL debut.

The No.46 and No.47 guernseys won't be worn by Crows players next year.
