GOLD Coast teenager Callum Ah Chee has signed on for a further two years with the Suns.

The small forward played 16 games in 2016 – his first season – and will now be at the club until at least the end of 2019.

After being taken at pick No.8 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, Ah Chee slotted into Rodney Eade's best 22 on a regular basis, displaying clean skills and poise beyond his years.

"I'm absolutely loving it here on the Gold Coast and thought it was the right time to extend as I'm very excited at what 2017 and beyond will bring," Ah Chee said.

"It's a great football club and I'm loving how we are going."

The West Australian has fitted in comfortably on the other side of the country and is popular among the young Suns.

"It was hard sometimes, being away from family as Perth is a long way away, but the Suns have a great support network and our player welfare team including the recent appointment of our indigenous liaison officer in Eddie Sansbury have been great," he said.

"'Rocket' (coach Rodney Eade) has been really good to me; given me an opportunity and I didn't think I would play 16 games this year, but I did.

"He has been a great mentor and coach, and I'm loving having him at the club."

Ah Chee's contract extension follows the recent announcement midfielder David Swallow would also be at the club until the end of 2019.
