GOLD Coast has continued a superb week for the club, locking away young star Jack Martin for a further two years.

The Suns confirmed Martin's contract extension on Friday morning that will tie him to the club until the end of 2019.

It comes hot on the heels of vice-captain Touk Miller committing for another three seasons and the unveiling of the Suns' new $22 million training and administration facility.

Martin has been with Gold Coast for four years after the club recruited him via the GWS 17-year-old mini draft.

He said there was never any thought of leaving, including to return to his home state of Western Australia.

"I didn't meet with any other clubs. I sat down with my manager and said 'this is where I want to be'," Martin said.

"It was pretty straightforward from there."

Martin said moving 2000km south from his family's home in Broome to boarding school in Geraldton made the transition across the country easier.

His family visited Gold Coast during the pre-season – including its new training and administration facility – and were delighted for Martin to stay.

"I don't get to see them (family) that much, but I moved away from home when I was younger. I don't really miss home, I miss my family at times, but I speak to them every day," he said.

"I've made some good friends and the people at the club have been amazing."

Martin is fresh off the best of his three AFL seasons, playing 21 games in 2016 and finishing third in the club's best and fairest.

Co-captain Steven May is also believed to be close to re-signing.
