HAWTHORN has left under-pressure recruit Ty Vickery out of its side for Sunday's crunch clash against West Coast at the MCG.

Meanwhile, ex-North Melbourne forward Aaron Black will get a chance to revive his career when he debuts for Geelong against St Kilda.

Vickery, who was a late withdrawal from the Easter Monday belting against Geelong due to a tight back, hasn't been able to force his way back into Alastair Clarkson's best 22.

The 200cm former Tiger has been in the news this week after Richmond great Matthew Richardson leapt to his defence, believing Vickery was unfairly copping too much stick for the Hawks' plight.

Vickery has struggled so far as a Hawk, booting only one goal and averaging 10 disposals and 1.7 marks in his first three games.

Daniel Howe comes into the Hawks' side in their only change, with Ricky Henderson dropped.

The former Crow will be an emergency for the West Coast clash, alongside Vickery and Kade Stewart.

The Eagles have opted for only one change, bringing back athletic goalkicker Jack Darling (ankle) to replace Sam Mitchell, whose ankle injury has kept him out of a much-anticipated return to face his former club.

Onballers Dom Sheed, Mark Hutchings and Malcolm Karpany are West Coast's emergencies.

Former Kangaroos big man Black will play his first game for unbeaten Geelong in a showdown with St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

The mobile forward booted 33 goals in a breakout 2013 season at North but struggled to recapture that form and was traded to the Cats at the end of last year.

Black comes into the 22 as one of three changes alongside George Horlin-Smith, who is back from a wrist injury, and Darcy Lang.

Suspended duo James Parsons and Sam Menegola have made way, while defender Tom Ruggles has been dropped.

The Saints have also made three changes, axing Jack Lonie, while ruckman Tom Hickey has been managed and St Kilda has again lost midfielder David Armitage to a groin issue.

Star onballer Jack Steven is back after missing two games with a punctured lung, while Billy Longer replaces Hickey and Darren Minchington also comes into the 22.
