ADAM Treloar has revealed he is battling soreness from ongoing groin and hip issues, but the Collingwood star expects to take his place against former club Greater Western Sydney on Saturday.

Treloar was spotted at scans on Monday and was restricted to light duties at training on Tuesday, raising concerns he could miss the Pies' crucial clash with the Giants.

"Obviously with my history with my groins and my hips – I had a bit of a past over at the Giants – and a lot of the time I just get maintenance checks to see how I'm going," Treloar told SEN

"Some weeks I got sorer than other weeks.

"On the back of the three games we played in (12 days) it just pulled up a little bit sore."

Treloar is facing a fitness test at training on Thursday ahead of the trip to Spotless Stadium.

"I just want to really make sure I'm fresh going in and not be a liability out there and not be able to run," he said.

"If I feel good tomorrow and hopefully train strongly I'll (take on) the Giants."

The 24-year-old has been plagued by groin issues during his 108-game career, and underwent surgery before his trade to Collingwood was completed at the end of the 2015 campaign.

With a 2-5 win-loss record and their finals hopes fading, the Pies are facing a must-win clash against the Giants, and are set to regain recruits Daniel Wells and Henry Schade after the duo were rested for last weekend's loss to Carlton.
