GREATER Western Sydney defender Aidan Corr suffered a head injury in the first minute of Saturday's clash at Spotless Stadium.

Corr lay motionless for more than a minute after his head crashed into the turf at a nasty angle. The 22-year-old suffered the injury when he went back with the flight of the ball and was accidentally tripped by teammate Phil Davis.

Irishman Corr eventually got to his feet, was helped off the ground two trainers and trudged off to the rooms.

The Giants tweeted at quarter-time that Corr would take no further part in the game.

The home side were dealt another blow early in the second term when Sam Reid copped a heavy knock.

He went off for assessment and was eventually ruled out with concussion.

That left the Giants with just two fit men on the bench for the remainder of the match.
