MALIGNED forward Liam Jones has been recalled by Carlton for Sunday's huge challenge against Greater Western Sydney, while star youngster Sam Petrevski-Seton has been rested.

Jones and former Giant and Swans small forward Jed Lamb will both play their first games this season at Etihad Stadium, coming into the 22 alongside Dale Thomas.

Thomas returns after suffering a broken nose and concussion against Fremantle in round nine and missing the fighting loss to North Melbourne before the bye.

Jones is playing for his career with the three-year contract he signed after crossing from the Western Bulldogs set to expire at the end of 2017.

First-year defender Harrison Macreadie and Nick Graham have been dropped, while Petrevski-Seton is being managed after playing every game this year.

The Giants have made the solitary change, with veteran forward Steve Johnson bolstering their top-of-the-table line-up against the 17th-placed Blues.

Johnson returns after missing the past two wins due to a knee injury and replaces Daniel Lloyd.

Hawthorn has been forced to make a further change to its lineup for Saturday's clash against Gold Coast at the MCG, with Luke Breust to miss the game with an illness.

Breust was withdrawn from the side late on Friday afternoon, with Kade Stewart replacing him in the Hawks' 22.

Hawthorn football manager Jason Burt said the sharp-shooting Hawk had nearly been able to get up for the game.

"Luke presented with a bout of gastro yesterday which prevented him from training," he said.

"We were hoping he would be in better condition today and right for tomorrow afternoon’s game, but unfortunately he’s still not feeling 100 per cent so we have made the decision to withdraw him from the side."

Teia Miles has been added to the club's listed emergencies.

Breust has kicked the equal-most goals of any Hawk this season, 19, sharing that honour with skipper Jarryd Roughead.

Will Langford and Tim O'Brien are the other Hawthorn inclusions, with Ty Vickery and Dallas Willsmore going out of the side.
