VFL 2017 Grand Final - Port Melbourne v Richmond

Richmond has delisted forward Ben Lennon

PREMIERS Richmond has cut two more players from its list, with former first-round draftee Ben Lennon and defender Jake Batchelor both delisted.

Lennon played 21 games in his four seasons at Punt Road, and just two in 2017, after being selected with pick No.12 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.

Batchelor played 84 games for the Tigers over seven seasons, but got just one senior game in the past year – a round eight outing against Fremantle.

Batchelor, a key defender, was selected with pick No.30 in the 2010 national draft, and enjoyed a breakout year in 2015. But his 2016 was ruined by injury and he failed to racapture his best form this season.

Richmond's general manager of football talent Dan Richardson said both players had been a positive influence on the club.

"Jake has made an invaluable contribution to the club," Richardson said.

"His strong work ethic has been second to none.

"Ben is a resilient character and is held in high regard with the playing group."

Richmond has previously delisted Steven Morris, Taylor Hunt and Todd Elton since winning the premiership, while Ivan Maric and Chris Yarran have retired.
