ADELAIDE is taking a closer look at SANFL youngster Lachlan Murphy ahead of the NAB AFL Draft, with the teenager invited to train with the team through the early stages of the pre-season.

Murphy was overlooked in last year's national and rookie drafts, but an impressive season with the Crows' state-league team has him back in calculations for an opportunity in 2018.

The 18-year-old has joined the Crows' first-to-fourth-year players in training as he fights for an opportunity at AFL level after relocating from Victoria this year to play with the SANFL team.

Murphy was recognised with the Dean Bailey Award in 2017 as the SANFL Crows' best development player, excelling in his first season of senior football.

The small defender played every game and also finished fourth in the SANFL team's best and fairest and was nominated in round one for the league's breakthrough player award.

Delisted Crow Cam Ellis-Yolmen is also training with the club, which has committed to redrafting him as a rookie if he is not snapped up by a rival.

Port Adelaide is hosting Woodville-West Torrens half-back flanker Joe Sinor, who won the right to train with the Power and Crows for a week each after being named the SANFL's breakthrough player of the season.

The 23-year-old was also named in the SANFL's team of the year.

Other delisted players continuing to train with commitments to be re-drafted or rookie listed are by their clubs are Cian Hanley and Claye Beams (Brisbane Lions) and Roarke Smith (Western Bulldogs).

Corey Wagner remains on the AFL's official permission to train list with North Melbourne after the second-year midfielder was delisted last month.

Carlton is considering relisting Blaine Boekhorst, while ex-Gold Coast utility Matt Shaw and former Power defender Cam O'Shea – who won the Northern Blues' best and fairest in 2017 – continue to train with the club.

St Kilda continues to audition delisted West Coast forward Tom Lamb, former Fremantle backman Sam Collins and ex-North Melbourne midfielder Will Fordham.

Premiership defender Alex Johnson remains a chance of continuing his career with Sydney after five knee reconstructions, with delisted forward Sam Fisher also continuing to train with the club.
