The AFL advises that both the Richmond Football Club and the Western Bulldogs Football Club have been sanctioned under the AFL Rules relating to player whereabouts information.

Under the operation of the AFL Rules, it is the club that is sanctioned for the failure to provide complete up-to-date whereabouts information for its listed players at all times for testing purposes.

Richmond was sanctioned $7500 in total, comprising a $2500 sanction for not providing up to date whereabouts information for a listed player during the post-season travel period, and the activation of a previously suspended $5000 sanction for an earlier Rules Breach which was detailed on September 4, 2017. The club now has a further suspended $7500 sanction should any further breach occur in the next 12 months.

The Bulldogs were sanctioned $3000 for not immediately notifying the post-season travel arrangements of a listed player.
