CARLTON was back in the black in 2017, two years after a horror $2.7 million loss.

The Blues announced on Wednesday an operating profit of $2.4 million for the year ending October 31, before depreciation and amortisation left them with a $678,580 statutory profit.

It was further improvement from last year when the club reported a statutory loss of $765,000.

Carlton president Mark LoGiudice said the club's financial performance reflected its "significant growth and achievement" on and off field in 2017.

There were increases in consumer and corporate revenue, match-day attendances and TV audiences, and membership exceeded 50,000 for the third consecutive year.

"We were pleased to confirm the extension of Hyundai and Virgin Australia for a further five years as co-major partners," LoGiudice said.

"We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our members who signed up and made the commitment to support the club in 2017.

"We look forward to another year of growth and improvement in 2018."

The Blues invested additional resources into their football programs, including the areas of high performance, development, coaching and football technology.

Carlton is also resurfacing Ikon Park and the venue will be ready to host the club's NAB AFL Women's season opener against Collingwood on Friday, February 2.

The AGM will be held on February 26 at Ikon Park.
