COLLINGWOOD veteran Daniel Wells is keen to play on in 2019 and see out the final year of his contract at the club, his manager Liam Pickering says.

Wells has managed just 14 games in his first two seasons at the Magpies, with the 33-year-old hampered by injuries since crossing from North Melbourne as a free agent at the end of 2016.

The midfielder was ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a Lisfranc foot fracture against Melbourne in round 12, which is set to delay his pre-season training program.

Despite the setback, Wells maintains he will be able to get back from the serious injury and contribute to the Magpies' 2019 campaign.

"He wants to play, and he will be able to play," Pickering told SEN on Tuesday morning.

"He has had a lot of injuries in his first two years at the club, but he's contracted and he'll be playing.

"He gets this foot right, he's still got his speed and he's still got his class.

"Let's not forget the games he played last year how important he was. He's just had a bad run.

"Unless something changes between now and the end of the year, that's where we'll be at."

A series of calf injuries limited Wells' influence in 2017, while he was struck down by Achilles soreness this pre-season and only returned to the senior line-up in round eight.

Wells signed a three-year deal reportedly worth up to $1.5 million when he joined the Magpies.

Meanwhile, Pickering has denied North Melbourne had approached him about securing the services of out of contract Magpie Darcy Moore.

Sydney enquired earlier in the year about bringing the athletic defender to the Harbour City, but Pickering has quashed reports that the Kangaroos are keen for him to land at Arden Street.

"If they (North Melbourne) have (brought Moore up in discussions), they haven't done it with me," Pickering said.

"I haven't spoken to North."

Gold Coast's Aaron Hall is another of Pickering's clients to fall out of contract at the end of the year, and the manager said he would be speaking to the Suns' list management team soon about discussing a new deal.

AFL.com.au reported last week that Hall had interest from a number of Victorian clubs, including St Kilda, North Melbourne and Carlton.

Hall has not played since round 11 after injuring the pectoral muscle in his chest.

"We're working through that at the moment," Pickering said.

"I'm going to be speaking to the Suns very shortly. I would assume they will (want to keep him).

"We'll see when that time comes.

"If he's keen to stay and they want him, we'll re-sign him."
