THE AFL Women's competition committee will meet for the first time on Tuesday, with the 2019 season structure, match rules and 2020 expansion list regulations on the agenda.

The committee includes AFLW players, coaches and club officials, with a focus on assisting the AFL Commission in the future direction of the competition.

The meeting will be broken up into three categories: the AFLW competition (season three structure and talent pathways), player movement (list rules recap and 2020 expansion list rules) and the game (AFLW charter, 2019 rules discussion and injury prevention programs).

Four clubs – Gold Coast, Richmond, St Kilda and West Coast – will be joining the competition in 2020, with current clubs eager to know what rules will be in place relating to expansion before the next draft in October.

The structure and length of the 2019 season has been a hot topic of debate in recent days, especially among players.
