GOLD Coast has delisted 2012 first-round draft pick Jesse Lonergan ahead of Wednesday's list lodgement deadline.

Lonergan, who turns 24 in November, played 60 games in six seasons, but only five this year as the Tasmanian-born midfielder battled knee issues.

The Suns will also cut Harrison Wigg and Brad Scheer and re-draft them as rookies, as AFL.com.au reported in September, while elevating Darcy MacPherson to the senior list.

Veteran Michael Rischitelli is in the same situation as Wigg and Scheer.

Gold Coast's other delistings were Michael Barlow, Josh Jaska, Max Spencer and Mackenzie Willis, while Matt Rosa retired, Tom Lynch left in free agency and Steven May, Aaron Hall and Kade Kolodjashnij were traded.

The major turnover reflects the new direction under the Suns' football department, headed by coach Stuart Dew, football boss Jon Haines and list manager Craig Cameron.

"On behalf of the club, I'd like to thank Jesse for his commitment to the club over the past six seasons, and wish him all the best for the future," Haines said.

The list decisions also mean out-of-contract defender Jack Leslie and rookies Jacob Dawson and Jacob Heron will be retained.

Gold Coast, which is armed with five draft picks in the top 30, including two, three and six, also brought in Corey Ellis, Jack Hombsch, George Horlin-Smith and Anthony Miles in the NAB AFL Trade Period.

State league stars Josh Corbett, Chris Burgess and Sam Collins were the other additions so far as part of the AFL's pre-draft concession selections to help the Suns find their feet.
