RICHMOND star Dustin Martin has capped off a tremendous week by claiming the Gary Ayres Award for the best player of the finals in the eyes of the coaches.

Martin added the honour to the premiership and Norm Smith Medal he won on Saturday after receiving a perfect 10 votes from Richmond coach Damian Hardwick and GWS counterpart Leon Cameron for his performance in the 2019 Grand Final.

The 28-year-old collected 22 disposals and booted four telling goals during the Tigers' 89-point thumping of the Giants to finish the finals series with an impressive 19 votes from three appearances.

Martin ended up some six votes ahead of Giants midfielder Tim Taranto (13), while teammate Bachar Houli picked up seven votes during the premiership decider to finish in third place with 12 votes.

Geelong skipper Joel Selwood (11) was fourth, while GWS gun Toby Greene, Brisbane ruckman Stefan Martin, Eagles Jamie Cripps and Collingwood high-flier Jeremy Howe shared fifth place with 10 votes.
