O'Halloran could be sidelined for a month with a syndesmosis strain in his ankle, while Sproule copped a grade two medial collateral ligament strain and is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks.

While the youngsters weren't in the frame for the Giants' season-opener against Geelong at home on March 21, O'Halloran featured in week one of the Marsh Community Series against Sydney and looked solid as an inside midfielder. Sproule made his senior debut last year.

GWS won its pre-season games against the Swans and Richmond and has most of its best 22 available to face the Cats, with midfield guns Tim Taranto (shoulder) and Callan Ward (knee) the only definite outs at this stage.

Star defender Zac Williams (Achilles) missed the Marsh Series but is a chance to take on Geelong and should feature in an intraclub clash on Saturday.
