CARLTON coach Denis Pagan says that unless Brendan Fevola hasany "little explosions" at training on Thursday or Friday, he’ll be back inaction this weekend for the Blues'SCG encounter with the Sydney Swans.

The star forward was suspended from the club for a week andtold to spend the time thinking about his future at the club. Pagan believedthat he "has seen the error of his ways".

"We had a talk about things,"Pagan said.

“He’s convinced us that he won’t do it again. We’ll have alook at him train. He’s done everything he can possibly do at this stage.”

Pagan insisted that the club didnot force him to suspend the wayward player.

"It was my decision. You certainly want your best playersout there but sometimes you’ve got to go backwards before you go forwards."

However Pagan refused to commenton whether the talented forward would re-offend.

"I can’t answer that at this stage. He says actions speaklouder than words. I agree with him on that."

Pagan said he hadn’t talked to Fevola about life at theclub after the next eight weeks, and wouldn’t say if the errant player was on his last chance.

"Let’s jump that hurdle when weget there," Pagan said.

Meanwhile the coach was hopeful that skipper Lance Whitnall wouldreturn to action as soon as next weekend after suffering another injurysetback when he had an allergic reaction to an injection administeredto hisknee.

Pagan confirmed that Cain Ackland would not play with the seniorsthis weekend and won’t until he has shown some form in the VFL.
