CYRIL Rioli could make his return from a hamstring injury in Hawthorn's clash with West Coast in Launceston on Saturday.

The dual premiership player was injured in the Hawks' loss to the Swans on May 9 and was expected to be sidelined for up to a month.

However, Rioli resumed full training last Friday and is now in the selection mix a week earlier than anticipated.

Hawks football operations manager Chris Fagan confirmed the star forward could return after missing just three games.

“At this stage, barring any setbacks we expect him to be putting his hand up for selection,” he told the Hawks' website on Tuesday.

“Cyril has been flying on the track, he's been back running at 100 per cent for the last week or so and started training with the footy last Friday.”

Vice-captain Jordan Lewis is set to return for Saturday's clash at Aurora Stadium after being a late withdrawal from last Sunday's match against the Giants with adductor soreness.

“We expect him to be fit and available for selection," Fagan said.

"His [withdrawal] was a precautionary measure we took to ensure he didn't do any further damage."

The Hawks will be sweating on the fitness of several players this week with defender Ben Stratton (adductor) and ruckmen David Hale (corked quad) and Ben McEvoy (corked hamstring) all to be tested on Thursday at the team's main training session.
