PORT ADELAIDE forward Jake Neade has escaped injury after being involved in a car accident in the Northern Territory on Friday.

The 21-year-old was driving the vehicle when the rear left tyre suffered a blow-out.

He was unharmed in the accident but spent time in Katherine Hospital under observation before being released later on Friday night.

Neade returned a zero blood alchohol reading in a breath test, the car was deemed roadworthy and police ruled out speeding as a cause of the incident, which happened about 70km north of Katherine on the Stuart Highway.

The club has also confirmed Neade holds a current licence and is insured.

The Power speedster is on leave in his home state.
