FREMANTLE draftee Connor Blakely says he now feels like he's part of the club having received jumper No.19 on Wednesday.

Six new Dockers have been allocated their jumper numbers for next season with Blakely given the number that was once worn by Dockers life member James Walker.

"I haven't been told much about him but I saw on the locker his 151 games and he's a life member of the club," Blakely said.

"I think when time goes on I might get in contact with him and ask him a few questions because we've got that bond now of the same number."

Blakely grew up as a West Coast supporter and idolized the Eagles midfield of the mid-2000s, which included Brownlow medallists Chris Judd and Ben Cousins.

The 18-year-old has been likened to David Mundy and has already spent some time with the veteran.

"I've had a little bit to do with David Mundy out on the track and Danyle Pearce has actually helped me a fair bit with midfield positioning and things like that because this year stoppage work is pretty important," Blakely said.

The new Dockers draftees have been thrown straight into the deep end with Blakely and Lachie Weller already working with the midfield group on stoppage structures.

Blakely said training had been hard but he said he likes the approach of his new coach Ross Lyon.

"It's pretty full on," Blakely said.

"You realise just how intense it is and the club is really just about accountability and attention to detail.

"I've found Ross someone who is a really nice guy who just tells you how it is basically.

"He just really loves effort. He'll tell you whether you're going well or not going so well. You definitely know where you stand with him, which is something I find really good with a coach."

Weller will don the No.14 jumper worn by 202-game defender Antoni Grover.

The prized midfielder, who was snared with pick No.13 in the NAB AFL Draft, inherits the number from Josh Simpson, who was delisted this year after two seasons with the Dockers.

Exciting midfielder Josh Deluca will wear No.39, last seen in 2011 when Casey Sibosado played his only game for the club.

Stepping into the big shoes of Fremantle cult heroes Kepler Bradley and Clive Waterhouse will be Ed Langdon, who is hoping to become just the third Docker to wear No.26 in an AFL match.

Rookies Ethan Hughes and Sean Hurley will wear No.42 and No.45 respectively.

Irishman Hurley's No.45 was last worn in an AFL match by small forward Gavin Mitchell in 1997.
