Ladder is an independent non-profit organisation established by AFL players to tackle youth homelessness in Australia. Ladder empowers young people aged 16-25 to break the cycle of homelessness by harnessing the support of the AFL industry’s profile, networks and players. We support young people to transition to independence by building their capacity to: enhance their physical and mental health and wellbeing, maintain stable, safe and secure accommodation, remain connected to their community and access education, employment or training. 

We are currently recruiting for the role of Fundraising Assistant to assist the Fundraising & Communications Manager in delivering a number of fundraising activities and events in August and September. The successful candidate will have project or event coordination/management skills, and be highly organised with strong administration skills. Reporting to the Fundraising & Communications Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Assisting with the coordination and planning of fundraising activities being held in August and September. 
  • Assisting with the development of promotional and marketing materials for fundraising activities. 
  • Assisting with communications including scheduling social media posts. 

The ideal candidate will have these essential requirements: 

  • Demonstrated project coordination/management skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Highly organised and strong administrative skills. 
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently. 
  • Strong computer skills. 
  • Displays Ladder's values of being disciplined, innovative and passionate. 

The Fundraising Assistant role is a part time role working approximately 1 day a week (7.5 hours) during July and early August, and building up to approximately 2 days a week (15 hours) during late August and September – contract will end 30 September 2014; located at our office in Collingwood.
